Nokia Create’ is the latest mission for Windows Phone app developers

The Nokia Create developer contest will spark Windows Phone app innovation worldwide, leading to stunning new apps for Lumia users. Competition info


 Nokia Create is a global competition to develop apps for Nokia Lumia and Windows Phone 8. It's your chance to win prizes that will help you and your apps stand out. Prize packages include devices, promotions, credit for ad campaigns, and more.

There are 14 missions built around 8 categories, so whether your skills lie in imaging, gaming or something entirely different, there's an opportunity to win. You can also take this as a challenge to learn something new. Each mission has a specific focus; from shorter Mini Missions, where you add Nokia’s APIs and new features to your existing Windows Phone apps, to Master Missions that challenge you to develop new apps.

Mini Mission 2 - NFC Only the most innovative uses of Nokia's NFC capabilities can win this mission.Apps using short-range radio technology can massively improve how we interact with the world around us. Enhance your app by adding NFC so that is has, for example, increased interactivity with other devices or an instant pay function.

NFC is opening up new possibilities for mobile applications. Applications using this short-range radio technology can greatly simplify how a user gathers data and interacts with their environment. When a phone touches, or is held near an NFC tag or another NFC capable device, the phone can exchange data with that tag or device. 

 This data could be a link to download the menu of a favourite restaurant, the specifications for an electronic gizmo, paring information from a Bluetooth headset or another phone that can be used to exchange objects: the possibilities are endless.
